Here’s a photo op from Richard Harper – FANNY STEBBINS WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, LONGMEADOW MA – Saturday, 7/27/19 (rain date Sunday, 7/28/19). Richard will be hosting a field trip to Fanny Stebbins Sanctuary in Longmeadow. Arriving at 8:00am provides good light, necessary for this type of photography. Please let me know if you are interested and I will put it together.

Most of us consider insects to be bothersome and pesky little creatures, however they have been around millions of years longer than we have. They have a remarkable way of adapting to the changes in their environment and are as essential part of our ecosystem. Without them, we probably would not exist. It is fascinating to study how insects manage their daily lives, mostly searching for food, procreating and just trying to survive. To photograph these little guys takes patience, a good dslr or mirrorless camera, a macro (micro for Nikon users) and for fine detail a tripod.
